About Us

At Slaughter Aviation, our mission is to provide exceptional flight training at an affordable rate at Ryan Airfield in Tucson, Arizona. We focus on creating safe, skilled pilots through structured, personalized instruction tailored to each student's needs.

Services

Training We Offer

We provide a variety of levels of training. From your first flight, to being able to receive compensation as pilot. Or even if you're returning to flying. We have you covered and we're here to help you!

Discovery Flight

Take your first flight with your hands on the controls and experience aviation!

Our instructor will help guide you through your first flight.

Private Pilot Training

Be able to fly for fun with passengers or by yourself.

Sport Pilot Training

Be able to fly for fun with one other passenger or by yourself.

Less flight hours are required and a medical is not required.

Instrument Rating Training

Be able to fly through clouds and flight by reference to the instruments only.

Fly like the airliners!

Commercial Pilot Training

Be able to fly for compensation or hire.

Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument Add On

Be able to teach instrument students.

Flight Review

Required if a checkride has not been completed within the last 24 months.

What aircraft do you use for training?

We primarily use Cessna C-150 and C-172 aircraft for our flight training. Owned and maintained by A&P mechanics.  These are some of the most popular training aircraft due to their stability and reliability. 

Can anyone be a pilot?

Mostly yes! Surprisingly, most of the general public can become a pilot. After your discovery flight, your next step is to get your medical through a designated Aviation Medical Examiner. If this might be an issue, you may still be able to get your sport pilot certificate and still fly for fun.

Do you offer ground school?

Yes, we provide ground school instruction not only for you understand aviation knowledge but to build you into an excellent real world pilot. Only at $20 an hour.

How do I schedule a flight lesson?

To schedule a flight lesson, simply contact us via phone or email. We will assist you in booking a convenient time for your flight/training.
